Seminar for Teachers of English Language



As part of the planned activities of the Programme for English Language Training’ and Testing for personnel in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces according to STANAG 6001 (PELT Programme), a seminar on "Methods of teaching and development of teaching materials using traditional methods and modern information technologies" was held in "Omorika" hotel at Tara, from 10 to 14 March 2014.

The seminar was held in collaboration with PELT Directorate of Personnel Department of Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence and the British Council in Belgrade from the earmarked funds of countries donors to PELT Programme (Kingdom of Norway, United Kingdom, Kingdom of Denmark, Kingdom of the Netherlands and Kingdom of Sweden, and the United States).

The seminar was attended by English language teachers, heads of self-access centres (CELT – SAC) from the garrisons of the Serbian Armed Forces in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Kraljevo, Vranje and Pozarevac and military academies, teachers from the Department of Foreign Languages of the Military Academy, Head of the Group for the English language of the Training and Doctrine Department of SAF GS (J -7) and two English teachers from the Training Centre of the Montenegrin Armed Forces.

Lectures at the seminar was organized and implemented by the British Council in Belgrade with Professor Rob Bukmaster from the UK, an expert in the field of training and testing in English for members of the armed forces and qualified PEP (Peacekeeping English Project) Manager of the British Council .
