Defence Minister holds a lecture at National Defence School



Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has held today a lecture to the students of the 59th class of General Staff College and 62 class of the Command-Staff College at the National Defence School on the achieved level of reforms, as well as the directions and priorities of further development of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.

On that occasion, Minister Djordjevic reflected on the professionalization, training, educational system, and most of today's lecture was dedicated to establishing a system of financial management and control in the Ministry of Defence.

- The financial system and financial control and management apply to all business processes, both financial and non-financial, and must be established at all levels. They include the involvement of all employees from top management down to the last employee – Minister Djordjevic pointed out noting that non-financial operations, such as training, education and practices are particularly important in the defence system.

There are few institutions to which the Ministry of Defence can look up when it comes to the functioning of the financial system, Djordjevic said pointing out that the ministry he leads is a pioneer in introducing certain innovative mechanisms in this segment of work.

Minister Djordjevic has also stressed the importance of internal audit for the effective functioning of a complex system such as the Ministry of Defence, while in the final section of today's lecture he spoke to the students of the National Defence School about visions for the Ministry’s development.
