Signing of the agreements on cooperation between the universities of defence



On the occasion of celebrating the Day of the University of Defence, in the Rector's Office of that higher education institution today, Agreements on Cooperation between the University of Defence in Belgrade and the Slovak Academy EC "General Milan Ratislav Štefanik", and Agreement on Cooperation with the University of National Defence of the Republic of Poland have been signed.

Addressing the guests, senior representatives of the military universities of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Austria, Rector of the University of Defence, Lieutenant General Miodrag Jevtic recalled that the cooperation with the colleagues from the Czech Republic and Bulgaria have already been formalized before.

- After these steps, we can only enhance our cooperation. You will always have us as reliable partners who are willing to learn and share ideas in order to make a step forward together and give an active contribution to national and regional security – General Jevtic pointed out.

Congratulating the hosts, after the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Boguslaw Pacek, Rector of the National Defence University of the Republic of Poland, stressed the importance of today's initialling of the act on cooperation.

- Serbia is a very important country for Europe, not only because of the historical facts, but also because of the active contribution it provides, and we are very pleased with the steps we make to promote our cooperation, as evidenced by the friendly relations between the Defence Ministers of the two countries. Our relationship will continue to be very special, and we will not only actively assist you by sharing with you the impressions of cooperation with the European Union, but we will also learn from you, as we have seen here many good examples that we can implement in our everyday educational practice – General Pacek said.

The ceremony of marking the Day of the University of Defence have begun this morning at the Military Academy, with a lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Boguslaw Pacek, Rector of the National Defence University of the Republic of Poland to the participants in the third class of the Advanced Security and Defence Studies, and the guests also visited during the day the Centre for Simulation and Distance Learning and the Department of Foreign Languages of the Military Academy.
