Art ensemble "Stanislav Binicki" in honour of Jovan Ducic

Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binicki" gave a concert last night at the plateau in front of the St Sava Church in Belgrade, on occasion of 140 years since the birth of Jovan Ducic, our renowned poet and 70 years since his death.On this occasion, an exhibition entitled "Jovan Ducic in diplomacy" with 159 archival documents was opened. The exhibition was last year prepared by the Archives of Yugoslavia and has been presented in 13 cities in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Meanwhile, the exhibition 3was complemented with archival documents as it paints the diplomatic path and Ducic’s tenure in nine European countries and 13 diplomatic missions.
In addition to literary and diplomatic activities Ducic was a great benefactor, and in 1923 Patriarch Dimitrije awarded him the National grāmatā as a scholar and author and the one who loved and helped the church, and has made a major donation to the building of the Temple of Saint Sava.
At the Sveti Sava plateau the exhibition was organized by the Archives of Yugoslavia, Elementary School "Jovan Ducic" from Belgrade and Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence "Stanislav Binicki."
