Minister Sutanovac visited "FAP" in Priboj
Defence Minister Dragan Sutanovac visited today the company "Fap corporation" in Priboj, to meet the delivery of 30 trucks from that manufacturing plant in the Serbian Armed Forces.
After visiting the Plant for assembly and finishing of products, Minister Sutanovac said that the interest of both the state and the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, is fostering and promoting domestic production, in order that workers in the sector throughout the country are employed in making that part of equipment which is necessary for the defence system.
- Just as the uniforms of our soldiers are produced by "Yumko", or just as we buy other local products, so we would like that Car Factory Priboj continue to develop – Sutanovac said expressing his satisfaction with the purchase so far, but also with the future cooperation in the development of vehicles for the needs of the defence system.
The minister also expressed hope that the potential budget revision and the formation of new government will provide more funds for investments in the defence system.
- The fact that the Serbian Armed Forces needs many hundreds of trucks ensures that "FAP" has a perspective. Support by the Government is necessary, but also that other elements of the Government and local governments recognise domestic production and that they buy from them, as does our Ministry – the Minister of Defence pointed out announcing that a contract for ten more new trucks from that plant will soon be signed.
Director of "FAP" Priboj, Mirko Stojovi? especially emphasized the importance of support by the Ministry of Defence to that factory, noting that previous cooperation proved to be a bright example of cooperation with local industry, and that it should be continued.
