Minister Vulin Opened 52nd Serbia Rally



This evening, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin officially opened the 52nd Serbia Rally at the Town Square of Vrnjačka Banja, which is the most important automotive competition in these parts.
 
Greeting the present, he expressed his pleasure at the presence of significant number of foreign crews and invited the hosts to distinguish themselves in hospitality.

- The aim is for our guests to always wish to return to us, because those who met the Serbs, they never wanted to part from them and they always wished to live with them. Show them the best that we have. Our Banja is beautiful, our springs and hotels, put our people are the most beautiful. Show them our children and the beauty that God has given us - the minister of defence said and invited the hosts to present to the guests the Serbia at which we should rejoice, but he underscored that we should not be “such good hosts not to win the first place at the competition”. 
Boban Đurović President of the Municipality Vrnjačka Banja, the host town of the rally, along with the words of welcome, called upon the audience to follow the competition in large numbers and he expressed his hope that the rally would continue in the years to come, much like the great European championships which we were soon to host. 
 
Speaking on behalf of the rally organiser, President of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia, expressed his hope that they would witness interesting competitions.
 
- I am very pleased that the love for this sport has placed Serbia in the calendar of serious competitions, and I am particularly proud that the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia as organiser has been organising Serbia rally for more than half a century.  
 
Serbia rally is organised by the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia, Municipality Vrnjačka Banja and Sport Auto and Carting Association of Serbia with the support of the Ministry of the Youth and Sports and AMS Insurance. This year, it gathers 45 crews, and apart from competitors from Serbia, competing crews come from Bulgaria, Hungary, Turkey, Sweden, Croatia and Japan, Rally is scored for the European Rally Trophy, the Championship of Serbia, the Championship of Bulgaria, and the Championship of the Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This year’s competition also presented the true star of the world of speed, Dušan Borković, state champion and champion of numerous international competitions, who is going to drive one of the most wanted rally cars “Skoda Fabia, EVO R5”.
 
Serbia rally has been held since 1967, and this event has ever increasing number of participants. It was established as YU RALLY, but in the meanwhile it has got a new name, but it kept its old popularity and remained attractive for foreign competitors as well.
