Recognition to the Minister of Defence

On the occasion of the 5th anniversary since the establishment of the Academy for National Security, today, at the amphitheater of this higher education institution, awards were conferred to individuals and institutions with whom the Academy had good cooperation in the past period.

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin received the highest award – the Coat of Arms of the Academy, handed over by the Director of the Academy for National Security, Dragan Simeunović, PhD, pointing out that the Ministry of Defence has been there since the formation of the Academy to support it with its experience and knowledge in its development.

Director of the Security and Information Agency Bratislav Gašić, who, according to Simeunović, is extremely responsible for the current position of the Academy, is the winner of the same award.

The Great Plaque of the Academy for National Security was received by Rector of the University of Defence, Major General Mladen Vuruna, Director of the Military Security Agency, Brigadier General Petar Cvetković, and Colonel Slobodan Kisić from the University of Defence. In addition to members of the Ministry of Defence, Minister of Innovation and Technological Development, Nenad Popović, received the Great Plaque for Cooperation.

Extending congratulatory message to all members of the Academy for National Security on their holiday, BIA Director Bratislav Gašić recalled that without the help of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, as well as the engagement of previous directors, but also lecturers at the Academy, we would not have here today young people who are educated under the watchful eye of experienced members of the BIA.

- People are the greatest asset of the Agency. It is up to us to allow them to show their knowledge and qualities, he said, expressing belief that next year students of the Academy will have even better working conditions.

In 2013, the Serbian Government made a decision on the establishment of the Academy for National Security as a higher education institution of national importance, which since then has been educating part of the BIA staff.
