Cooperation in the field of military medicine




Final Planning Conference for joint engagement of medical teams of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ohio National Guard and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Angola was held at the Military Medical Academy.

The conference was attended by Prof. Colonel Dragan Dincic, Deputy Chief of MMA with his associates, members of the working group of the Ohio NG, members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Angola, representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, as well as Defence Attachés of the United States of America and the Republic of Angola in Serbia.

The analysis of the final conference was also focused on key aspects of the future engagement of the joint team that aims to provide medical assistance to the population in Pcinj discrict where it is not available on a daily basis. Apart from specialist examinations in different locations, it has been planned to engage mobile medical teams, as well as education of the population and local medical staff. Medical teams will consist of 31 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, 26 members of the Ohio NG, while four members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Angola will participate in the role of observer.

This joint humanitarian action, scheduled for September 2016, is a result of many years of military medical cooperation between Serbian medical corps and Ohio National Guard within the State Partnership Programme between Serbia and Ohio.
