PELT Seminar for English Teachers




A five-day international seminar on Preparation of teaching materials for English language courses with the themes from the field of counterterrorism was held in Novi Sad. The seminar was jointly organized by the PELT Directorate of the Personnel Department of the Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence and the US Embassy in Belgrade, through earmarked funds of IMET Programme. The seminar is a continuation of activities for raising the level of proficiency of English language teachers from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the use of military terminology and designing lessons for specialist English courses.

The PELT Directorate continuously organises professional seminars for English language teachers with the expert assistance by the US Defence Language Institute and the British Council in Belgrade through the donations of funds from PELT Programme donor countries (Kingdom of Norway, UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden, and the USA).

Based on the cooperation on the PELT Programme, the lectures at the seminar were organised by the US Embassy in Belgrade with Robert Rudman and Joseph Lishman, experts in the field of English language training and testing for members of the armed forces from the US National Defence Language Institute, San Antonio.
