Minister of Defence meets the Ambassador of China

Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has discussed today with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Belgrade Li Manchang the modalities of promoting the cooperation in the field of defence.

During the discussion, it was pointed out that China is one of the most important strategic partners and friends of Serbia. In particular, it was underlined that the forthcoming visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping would further contribute to enhancing the bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, including the defence cooperation. On this occasion, the meeting discussed all aspects of support and involvement of the Ministry of Defence and the

Serbian Armed Forces in the organization and realization of this visit.

The interlocutors agreed that the bilateral military cooperation was to be intensified to the satisfaction of both sides, as well as that various future projects have been initiated in the areas of mutual interest, particularly relating to the cooperation between the Serbian and Chinese defence industries.

It was noted that visits at high and the highest level had positive impact on creating a great environment for further dynamic growth of general and political bilateral relations and cooperation in the defence sector, with a focus on the development of military economic and military technical cooperation.
