Congratulations on the Day of the Military Archive

To all members of the Military Archive I extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 5 February – Day of the institution.

Continuing the tradition of the Third Historic Department of the General Staff, of 140 years, whose task was to "collects historical data", preserve the archives and manage the General Staff Library, which established the first institutional managing over military history and archives of the Serbian army, you have given a significant contribution to the protection of cultural heritage of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, and the Republic of Serbia. In the year of the jubilee of your institution and the centenary of the First World War, you have shown how heritage and the national spirit and tradition are presented.

I am certain that you will continue to achieve outstanding results in the field of scientific research, thanks to the persistence in your research and collection of archive material from the rich cultural treasures of the Military Archive.

I congratulate you on the jubilee, wishing you to have plenty of success in your future work.

Congratulations on the Day of the Geodetic Services

To all members of the Geodetic Services I extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of 5 February - Day of the service.

On that day in 1876, Prince Milan Obrenovic made a decision on establishment of the Geographic Department intended for measuring Serbia for military purposes. Continuing a tradition of 140 years, in the past period, you have achieved outstanding results in the field of topographic security of our army and in the realization of projects of general public importance.

I congratulate you on the jubilee, with the wish that in the next period you continue to perform the tasks professionally and efficiently, develop and improve the geodetic services and thus give full contribution to the operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.

Congratulations on the Day of the Military Geographical Institute

To all members of the Military Geographical Institute, I congratulate on 5 February - Day of the Institute.

Continuing a tradition of 140 years, you have achieved high results in the realization of numerous projects both in the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of many generations of officers and experts of various profiles, you have managed for the Serbian Armed Forces to be rightfully ranked among contemporary and modern equipped military organizations.

With greetings for the holiday and this great jubilee, I sincerely wish you that in the coming period you continue to achieve top results in the research and scientific field and give contribution to the further development and prosperity of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence on the path of the reforms of your work.

Congratulations on the Day of the Strategic Research Institute

To all members of the Strategic Research Institute, I congratulate 5 February - Day of the Institute.

On that day in 1876, Prince Milan Obrenovic issued the decree on "the Structure of the General Staff", which stipulated that the General Staff had three main departments, one of which is the third historical. This established the first institutional managing over military history and the Institute for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Defence fosters this tradition. In the first official proposal for writing military history and collecting archival materials of a professor of history and geography in the Artillery School, Jovan Dragasevic, Minister of the Military was introduced to many segments concerning the war and the art of war.

I trust that you will continue to give full contribution both in the field of historiography and research, and also to the affirmation of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.

I congratulate you on the jubilee and wish you success in the realization of all your plans, as well as your professional and scientific work to continuously enrich the national consciousness about ourselves and the world we live in.
