Guardians of our skies




Officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the 250th Missile Brigade of the Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces will be, as so many times before, in their positions in the New Year's Eve as well, and, as the country celebrates, their eyes will, to be, as always, be fixed skyward. Their key task is to control and ensure the sovereignty of air space. That is their main mission and everything is subordinated to it. That is why they call themselves the "guardians of the state skies”.

On-duty self-propelled missile batteries of the unit are constantly on alert and ready to respond immediately. Their crews are rotated every few days, and during the on-duty service, members of the units are constantly residing in the barracks.

The staff of these on-call units is made up of only the best-trained, mentally and physically strong and motivated members of the 250th Missile Brigade. They do their job responsibly and professionally. Even on the last day of the year, they will, together with other members of the Armed Forces deployed that day, will spend the New Year's Eve working.

Members of one of the units of the 250th Missile Brigade near Kragujevac were visited on the last day of the year by Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, who was accompanied by Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence Major General Ranko Zivak and associates.
