Meeting of Minister Gasic and the Ambassador of Indonesia

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and the Ambassador of Indonesia in Belgrade Samuel Samson agreed that the political relations between the two countries are good, with a tendency for further improvement.

Gasic and Samson stressed that the climate changes around the world that caused the floods that had hit Serbia and Indonesia showed the importance of regional and global connectivity in providing help and repairing the damage caused by natural disasters. The two interlocutors also discussed current political and security topics. Gasic thanked for Indonesia’s principled stance and support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

After signing the Agreement on cooperation in the field of defence in 2011, cooperation has been intensified, primarily in the field of military economics. Another subject of the meeting was development and improvement of military medical and military educational cooperation. The Military Medical Delegation of Indonesia attended the Third Pan-European Congress of Military Medicine in Belgrade this year, and the Delegation of the University of Defence of Indonesia will visit the University of Defence in Belgrade in December, when education modalities and advancement of officers will be discussed.

Gasic thanked Ambassador Samson, whose mandate in Serbia is coming to a close, on exceptionally successful work and dedication for improvement of the cooperation between the two countries.
