A dream came true for young second lieutenants

A granted wish of the highest ranked cadet in the 135th class of the Military Academy Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Borovcanin was also a dream come true of two of his classmates, the married couple Nikola and Teodora Djokic.

Брачни пар потпоручника Никола и Теодора Ђокић- Second Lieutenant Borovcanin went to see Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic on the subject of his appointment to his first officer duty, since, being the highest ranked, he has the right to choose his position of duty. When asked by General Dikovic whose request he believed should also be met, he suggested the two of us – Teodora said.

Head of the General Staff agreed with the idea and the two young second lieutenants today work at the same garrison – Nikola at the 41st Infantry Battalion in Bujanovac, and Teodora at the 42nd Infantry Battalion in Vranje.

- It only mattered for us to get the same garrison, regardless of the place. I am vowed by Vranje, the atmosphere and people, and everything turned out great in the end – Teodora said, and her husband added: - While filling out the wish list, for our first position of duty, we wrote that we are married and that we would love to get the same garrison.

Nikola was born in the village of Malosit, near Nis, and Teodora is from Belgrade. They both graduated from the Military Academy at the Infantry course.

- Since we studied at the same course, we have known each other since the beginning of our studies at the Military Academy. We started dating at SAS Medja shooting ground, June 5, 2013, while we were on the field. We got engaged in November that year, and next year, in May, we got married. Our marriage functioned at the Military Academy as the relationship had. One weekend we were in Belgrade, the other in Nis – Nikola explained. Teodora has similar impressions.

- Our life at the Academy didn’t change much after the wedding. We each still lived with our roommates, although we spent our free time together. We even sat next to each other during classes. Our obligations remained the same during the studies, we just became much greater support for each other than before, and this gave us an advantage to the other classmates – Teodora said.
