Meeting of the Head of the General Staff and the KFOR Commander
Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic and KFOR Commander Major General Salvatore Farina met today at the KFOR base “Film City” in Pristina.This was a high-level meeting of the Joint Commission for conducting the Military Technical Agreement. This Commission is comprised of the KFOR Command Commission and the Commission of the representatives of Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia. Joint meetings have been regularly held on different levels since 1999.
The main topics of the meeting were managing the provisional administrative line, the possibility of relaxation of the air defence zone and future directions of cooperation between SAF and KFOR.
Generals Dikovic and Farina also discussed the general situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and the security situation along the administrative line. The two generals also talked about regional cooperation as a frame for improving the level of security on the national, regional and global level.
It has been stated that the cooperation between the Armed Forces of Serbia and KFOR has the improving tendency, and that the reached level of cooperation is characterized by a high level of trust and mutual understanding.Generals Dikovic and Farina thanked each other for a professional and proper cooperation, since General Farina surrenders his duty as the KFOR Commander in September.
After the meeting, members of the Armed Forces of Serbia and KFOR played a friendly football game at the sports field of the “Bondstil” base. This game, ended at 4:1 for SAF, represents another confirmation of the good cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR.
