SAF and MoD delegation visits Algeria
A mixed delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Major-General Danko Jovanovic, PhD, Assistant Professor, Head of the Logistics (J-4) Department of the General Staff, who is also co-president of the Serbian part of the Joint Commission on Defense Cooperation with DNR Algeria, visited Algeria from 23 to 28 September 2012. The visit is another confirmation of the establishment of strategic relations between the two countries in the field of defense, as evidenced by the signing of the Treaty on Education between the Serbian Ministry of Defence and Algerian Ministry of Defence. This agreement envisions the conditions for sending best Algerian officers to pursue their postgraduate training, at master and PhD levels, in military-educational institutions of the Republic of Serbia in the future.
In addition, further topics of discussions were bilateral relations between the two defence ministries, with emphasis on cooperation in military economy and military education, but the common conclusion was that there was room for intensifying relations in military medicine, military-military cooperation and other areas of mutual interest.
It was also agreed that the delegated minister in the Ministry of National Defense DNR Algeria, Abdelmalek Guenaizia to visit Republic of Serbia, in order to promote cooperation in the defense field.
