Keys to 77 flats handed to tenants



Minister Sutanovac presented today to active and retired members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia keys for the apartments in Bezanijska kosa residential part of Belgrade. There are 77 newly built apartments situated at26, 28 and 32
Pedja Milosavljevic Street.

On that occasion, Sutanovac said that the Ministry of Defense continues to implement the plan for solving housing problems of the Serbian Army.

- Today we handed the keys to 77 flats, and in the last four years 550 flats in Bezanijska kosa have been constructed. Let me remind you that we made a plan to build 500 housing units in 4,5 years and I am very pleased that we continue with the plan, said the defense minister adding that the area Bezanijska kosa still has another 250 apartments, contracts for which were sent to military personnel as far back as 2001. Minister expressed his hope that by the end of this year and early next year, the construction of a total of 900 apartments will be completed.

- Another thing I would like to remind you of is that we started the project of building small houses and we have a very important issue of housing loans, and loans awarded to our military pensioners in Serbia. Soon we will present the keys of housing units in the former barracks "Stepa Stepanovic", as the minister said, pointing out that this is one of the best years in terms of solving the housing issue of those retired, or active military personnel.

After handing the keys along with the defense minister visited several residents of newly built apartments on the site.

During the past five years at the location of the local community Bezanijska kosa II three buildings were completed with 463 apartments having new tenants. Ministry of Defence as an investor own three locations in numbers 24, 25 and 29 the construction of which had started earlier. Continuation and construction dynamics of the facility depend on the possibility of providing funds and the amount of funds approved.
