Members of the Serbian Air Force in the Czech Republic

Airmen of the Serbian Armed Forces are participating in CIAF 2011 (Czech International Air Fest – The International Czech Air Show), the largest event of its kind this year in the Czech Republic to be held in Hradec Kralove, 120 km from Prague, on Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th September.

In front of dozens of thousands of visitors from the Czech Republic, as well as from the neighbouring countries, Lieutenant Miodrag Ristic – Rica, from the Technical and Testing Centre, flew in the flying part of the programme on Saturday, demonstrating superior skills in piloting plane J-22 "Eagle" Ser. No. 25207. This "Eagle" is known also beyond the borders of Serbia, among aviation fans, both by attractive performance in air shows, and by special appearance with a large stylized logo of the Serbian Armed Forces on the tail surfaces, and the drawing of the bird after which the "Eagle" was named on the front of the aircraft. Performance by Lieutenant Colonel Ristic, who upon arrival expressed great satisfaction that after a two-year break, has the opportunity again to fly "Eagle" beyond the borders of Serbia thus representing his country, is planned for the second day of the Air Show, on Sunday, 4th September.

Among the dozens of aircraft exposed in the so-called 'static' part of the air show, visitors could see the domestically produced aircraft G-4 "Super Galeb" which flew to Hradec Kralove with test pilots Lt. Col. Tomislav Becagovic and Major Goran Savic, and transporter "Antonov 26" with the crew from the 138th transport squadron led by Major Milan Malovic that hosted in their plane quite a few curious visitors and colleagues from other air forces.

In addition to the host country, the Czech Republic, military and civilian airmen from Slovakia, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, France, Hungary, Latvia, USA and Serbia participated in CIAF 2011.

The delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces to the Czech International Air Show is headed by Chief of Staff of the Command of Air Force and Air Defence, Colonel Dusko Zarkovic, and besides the flight and technical staff of Technical Testing Centre and 138th transport squadron, there are also one representative from each of the 204th and 98th Air Brigade of AF&AD and the Ministry of Defence.
