Briefing for foreign military representatives on matters within Defence Policy Sector’s competence
A briefing for foreign military representatives accredited in the Republic of Serbia on the matters that fall within the competence of the Defence Policy Sector was held at the Guard Club today.
The host of the event, Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Predrag Bandić, briefed the foreign military representatives on the current political and security situation in the region, making special reference to the latest irresponsible moves by the provisional Pristina institutions which threatened to further destabilize the region and undermine peace and security.He confirmed that Serbia was firmly committed to military neutrality, to solving problems peacefully and to strengthening regional security. International military cooperation activities carried out over the past period have had a positive impact on the development of Serbia's overall relations with international organizations and countries with which we have established partnerships and friendly relations, Assistant Minister Bandić said. According to him, there is room for more intensive cooperation in certain areas, and the positive trend in strengthening relations in the field of defence should be maintained.
During his presentation, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica, thanked the foreign military representatives for the good communication and their professional attitude and contribution to the organization and execution of international cooperation activities. He highlighted the positive trend in the implementation of activities included in the annual plan of military cooperation activities with foreign military representatives and said that our side was determined to carry out even more activities next year.President of the Belgrade Association of Defence Attaches, Colonel Pierre Desjeux, thanked for the briefing and all other activities organized over the past period, as well as for good communication and cooperation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces with foreign military representatives.
