Further Cooperation of Serbia and UAE Agreed at Dubai Air Show



Delegation of the Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces and Serbian defence industry, led by Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović PhD and Air Force and Air Defence Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, participates in Dubai Air Show 2023 in United Arab Emirates.

This exhibition is one of the major world events in the field of aviation and it has recorded the greatest number of exhibitors so far, with 1400 exhibitors form 95 countries among which there are several Serbian manufacturers in the field of high aviation technologies. Apart from the host, the Armed Forces of the UAE, more than 80 delegations from the countries from all over the world are at the exhibition.

Assistant Minister Miloradović and General Žarković talked about the relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries, Serbia and the UAE, with Air Force and Aid Defence Commander of the UAE Major General Ibrahim Nasser Mohamed Al-Alawi, and later Assistant Miloradović met Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Defence Industries of the UAE Major General Mubarak Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri and  Commander of the UAE Land Forces Major General Saeed Rashid Al Shehhi. Topics of the meeting included military technical cooperation, cooperation in the field of training and joint exercises, and the exchange of experience in the use of complex weapon systems.

In addition, the two sides held technical consultation on several types of weapons produced by Serbian defence industry, which attracted the interest of the UAE. Following steps have been agreed regarding all topics considered with the Armed Forces of the UAE.

The delegation of the Ministry of Defence, MTI and SDI had talks with most significant defence industry companies from the UAE (such as Tawazun and Edge) for the purpose of analysing the implementation of current contracts, and exploring the possibilities for potential cooperation projects.

The exhibition has gathered all leading world producers of aircraft, arms and equipment, which provided an opportunity to continue talks on current and future projects for the equipment of Air Force and Air Defence in the area of multi role combat aeroplanes, combat helicopters and new generation training-combat aeroplanes. On that occasion, the representatives of Air Force and Air Defence had an opportunity to try out some of the state-of-the-art aircraft types on their simulators, and obtain required clarifications at the static display.

Our delegation also participated in the conference of air force commanders titled “Transformation of management - accepting and initiating changes in the world guided by artificial intelligence”.
