State Secretary Starović at US-Adriatic Charter Defence Ministers Meeting in Skopje

State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Nemanja Starović, with his delegation members, participated in the segment of US-Adriatic Charter Defence Ministers Meeting (A5) in Skopje open for observers, which was dedicated to political dialogue and practical cooperation for the purpose of regional stability.

During the meeting, State Secretary Starović spoke about the contribution of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces to concrete forms of cooperation in the region, and the orientation towards the restoration of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, as the primary mechanism for resolving open issues, and an indicator of true commitment to democratic values and stability.

He underlined that KFOR is the only legitimate military formation in the area of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, and that the Republic of Serbia strongly opposes the promotion of illegal unilaterally recognised independence of the so-called Kosovo in the framework of A5, which would further undermine the efforts to normalise relations between Belgrade and Priština, carried out under the auspices of the European Union with the support of the United States of America.

The gathering, organised in the final segment of this year’s chairing by the Republic of North Macedonia of A5 initiative, included the participation of delegations of both A5 members and observers led by ministers of defence or their representatives.
