Visit from Chief of U.S. National Guard Bureau

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today with Chief of the U.S. National Guard Bureau, General Daniel Hokanson, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
The meeting discussed the global and regional security situation and the scope of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and the USA, with an emphasis on the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard and the potential for its improvement.

According to the interlocutors, the military cooperation between the two countries, maintained largely under the Serbia-Ohio State Partnership Program, is rich and intensive, and contributes to reaching the interoperability and raising the level of operational capabilities of the armed forces. It was concluded that joint activities should continue as well as the exploration of new forms of cooperation that would yield concrete and visible results, primarily in the field of training, development of NCO Corps and cyber defence.
General Mojsilović said that the Serbian Armed Forces strive towards being a responsible and credible partner, that they are determined to continue cooperation in all the areas of mutual interest, not only with the National Guard but with other components of the U.S. Armed Forces as well. He expressed his belief that successful military cooperation would greatly contribute to the development of overall relations between Serbia and the USA.

The U.S. delegation, which also includes Deputy Assistant Adjutant General for the Ohio Army National Guard, Brigadier General Stephen Rhoades, was received earlier today by Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević.
