SAF member wins Best Warrior Competition

Sgt.1st Class Ivan Jeremić, a member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, has won the Ohio Army National Guard's Best Warrior Competition held in the USA.
This regional competition that tests competitors on a variety of military skills and evaluates their physical fitness was held at Camp James A. Garfield in Ravenna. The best soldiers from the U.S. states of Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio, and competitors from Serbia and Hungary took part in the contest.

Over five physically challenging days, the soldiers were tested on 12 different events including weapons qualification, stress-shoot, water survival, ruck march, artillery fire direction and giving first aid.
Beating strong competition and taking first place, using the U.S. Armed Forces’ weapons and military equipment, Sgt. Jeremić has shown that members of the Serbian Armed Forces possess the best military skills, that they are professional, and that they carry out their tasks in a determined, disciplined and committed manner.
This is the first time members of the Serbian Armed Forces have competed at the U.S. Best Warrior Competition. It is only one of a number of activities conducted as part of Ohio–Serbia State Partnership Program, which aims to raise the level of operational capabilities and achieve interoperability and build up trust among the members of the partner nations' Armed Forces, and to develop overall relations between Serbia and the USA.
