Bilateral Meetings of State Delegation in Washington
In the framework of the visit from the delegation of the Republic of Serbia to Washington, led by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Nemanja Starović, with the aim to participate in 18th NATO Conference on weapons of mass destruction (WMD), arms control, disarmament and WMD non-proliferation, a series of bilateral meetings were held with representatives of the State Department and Department of Defence of the United States of America.
Meetings were held with Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs of the State Department, Gabriel Escobar and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe Mira Resnick, and with representative of the US Department of Defence Spencer Boyer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for European and NATO Policy. Apart from the mentioned, a meeting was held with Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy NATO Javier Colomina.
A working lunch was organised as part of the visit with representatives of US-Central European Bussines Association (ACEBA).
During the meeting, the discussion included the enhancement of bilateral defence cooperation and politico-security situation in the region of the Western Balkans with particular focus on the issues related to the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
