Minister Vučević: The military will eliminate the drones that make unauthorized entry into Serbian airspace

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, who was a guest on this morning's news programme on Radio Television of Serbia, said that, under orders from the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, all unmanned vehicles making an unauthorized entry into Serbian airspace would be destroyed or brought under our control. Vučević pointed out that the military had human and technological resources to accomplish that.
According to Minister Vučević, drones did not only make unauthorized entry into the Raška district, but the Serbian Armed Forces have spotted certain unmanned vehicles move over the Toplica and Nišava districts.

- Not only yesterday, but over the last three days, our military have observed certain objects, unmanned aerial vehicles move along the administrative line of separation between central Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, i.e. over the Ground Safety Zone, occasionally entering the territory of central Serbia, that is, attempting to perform aerial observation of the positions of Serbian Armed Forces units and certain military facilities and barracks. It is not just a question of entering the Raška district; the Serbian Armed Forces have spotted certain objects move over the Toplica and Nišava districts. In accordance with that, and taking into account the Ukrainian experience and the delay in making administrative decisions and the consequences thereof, the President of the Republic, as the supreme commander, has issued an order for the Serbian Armed Forces to remove any such object, that is, to eliminate it - said Vučević and underscored that the Serbian Armed Forces would fully protect our skies in accordance with Resolution 1244 and the Kumanovo Agreement.
He also referred to the information published by the media that the fighter aircraft had been patrolling because of the drones that had been spotted.

- Our MiG-29 fighters were not patrolling because of the drones. We have completely different procedures for such situations. As the Prime Minister said, our aircraft were carrying out routine police patrols, airspace control, and the military can use anti-aircraft machine guns and cannons, helicopters, and other newer-generation technical means to respond to these challenges. I cannot tell you whose drones they are, but I can tell you without a doubt that they come from the territory of the province of Kosovo and Metohija - Minister Vučević said.
