Minister Stefanović visits “Teleoptik-Gyroscopes" Company

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Neboјša Stefanović, PhD, has visited the "Teleoptik-Gyroscopes" Company in Zemun today. On that occasion, he said that this was one of the defence industry companies with the longest tradition that produces the most sophisticated missile, optics and thermal imaging parts. According to him, this important factory will make a significant contribution to increasing the power of our artillery, aviation, and infantry, so it is important for him to make sure that its employees are working devotedly on our development programs for the future, so that the Serbian Armed Forces would not lag behind the modern armies of the world.

Minister Stefanović pointed out that the company in Zemun was also working on the modernization of our "Eagle" aircraft.
– We have had the opportunity to see a demonstration of how the systems produced by “Teleoptik” are integrated into self-guided missiles as part of the modernization of our aircraft, but also various types of optical devices used by our army. Of course, in addition to the weapons used by our artillery, this will also be a development program for the future, and I can see that the employees of this company work hard and are absolutely committed. Once our infantry hand arms are fitted with the systems that are currently integrated into BOV-KIV and other armoured vehicles, once they are tested by the Serbian Armed Forces Technical Test Centre and are fully integrated and become part of our armament, mass production will be one of the opportunities for the development of this company. I think that, in today's world, the Serbian defence industry, particularly companies like this, which are involved in the production of specific equipment at competitive prices, have something to offer to the world market, in addition to the weapons they produce for our armed forces. I expect that the development of the new-generation television-guided and thermal imaging self-guided missile heads will soon increase the power of our artillery and aviation - said the Minister.

Stefanović thanked the director of the "Teleoptik-Gyroscopes" Company Zoran Jarić and his team for working hard together with the personnel of the Military Technical Institute and "Moma Stanojlović" Institute to make sure that the technologies presented today are not to be expected in 10 years’ time, but this or next year instead.
During the visit, Minister Stefanović visited the workshop where electro-optical systems are installed, the new workshop where parts are manufactured, the nanotechnology laboratory, printed circuit board assembly line, and the CNC grinding section. He also watched the operation of the modernized "Eagle" aircraft simulator.  Assistant Minister for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradović, PhD, and Head of the Defence Minister’s Office, Colonel Stevan Kotarlić, accompanied the Minister on his visit.
