Minister Stefanović Attends Preparedness Check for Demonstration of Capabilities of Serbian Armed Forces “SHIELD 2022”



Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović attended the check of preparedness, held on military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović”, for the demonstration of capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces “SHIELD 2022” to be held on Saturday, 30th April 2022.

Having seen first-hand that everything is ready for tomorrow’s demonstration, at the military airfield in Batajnica, Minister Stefanović talked to the participants of the demonstration who informed him about the course of the preparations and readiness of the units for tomorrow’s demonstration.
 
Today, Members of Air Force and Air Defence, the Army, 72nd Special Operations Brigade, and 63rd Parachute Brigade practiced sequences and prepared for the demonstration under the vigilant eye of the demonstration directors.
 
At tomorrow’s demonstration, dynamic segment consisting of several sequences, will among other include an assault using helicopters Mi-8 and Mi-17, and there will also be a demonstration of a special method of extraction of personnel called rope suspension technique.
 
The demonstration will include aircraft flypast, during which the visitors will have an opportunity to see flypasts by aeroplanes MiG-29, “Orao”, Super Galeb G-4, and helicopters Mi-35, “Gama”, Mi-17, Mi-8 and H-145, and members of 63rd Parachute Brigade will perform a demonstration jump.
 
A static display will consist of displayed modern arms and military equipment, and the assets developed by national defence industry.
 
The activities at the military airfield will involve more than 1000 members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, more than 300 pieces of arms and military equipment and more than 60 aeroplanes, helicopters and remotely controlled aircraft.
 
The demonstration of capabilities is open for citizens from 8.30 to 15.00. The visitors will be able to enter Batajnica airfield through three entrances – the main entrance into the military airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović”, entrance into the Aeronautical Plant “Moma Stanojlović”, and alternative entrance from Nova Pazova direction.
 
Today’s check of preparedness was also attended by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Petar Cvetković, Air Force and Air Defence Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković and the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović.
