Cooperation with UAE continues

A short meeting between Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, PhD, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was organized during the latter’s tour of the Umex 2022 unmanned platforms and technologies exhibition in the United Arab Emirates.

On that occasion, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent warm greetings to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and expressed his desire to continue cooperation.  The progress in the development and production of complex weapons systems, for which the UAE Armed Forces have shown interest so far, has been presented and further joint steps were agreed on, particularly in the field of armed robotic platforms and systems to combat them.

Also, an agreement to sell a significant amount of ammunition was signed today between Serbia’s Yugoimport SDPR Company and the UAE EDGE Group at the "Umex 2022" Exhibition. The agreement was signed by Mr. Hamad Al Marar, President of the Missiles and Weapons cluster at the EDGE Group, and Ms. Tijana Konić, Coordinator at Yugoimport.  The signed contract mainly refers to the products of Valjevo’s Krušik Holding Corporation, which will significantly contribute to keeping this factory’s production facilities occupied in the next two years. The plan is that, once the contract has been executed, the cooperation on the production of this type of ammunition in similar amounts on an annual basis will continue between these two companies and expand to other types of products and technologies of this type in which Krušik and other Serbian defence companies will participate.

The United Arab Emirates is one of the important markets for products manufactured by our Defence Industry. This is evidenced by the fact that since 2015 when intensive military-economic cooperation between Serbia and UAE began, the value of weapons and military equipment exported to the UAE has reached over half a billion US dollars, and it is expected that this tendency will continue, particularly bearing in mind that a number of complex weapons systems and military equipment have been tested, with good prospects of entering into high-value contracts.
