Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces help Belgrade Association of Muscular Dystrophy Patients



The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have responded to the appeal for help made by the Belgrade Association of Muscular Dystrophy Patients and helped deliver firewood to the Association’s seven neediest families. Participants in the Military Academy Reserve Officers’ Course and members of the "Belgrade" Military Construction Institution, Infrastructure Department, loaded 30 cubic meters of logs from the property owned by the "Banatski Karlovac" Forest Office, provided by PE "Vojvodina Forests", and delivered it to households in Belgrade.
 
Dušan Trojanović, the president of the Association of Muscular Dystrophy Patients, thanked the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for delivering firewood to the people who need it the most.  

- We could not provide transportation of the firewood to our association members, so we sought help from the Serbian Armed Forces, because we assumed that they would be cooperative. I was not surprised that they agreed to help us, but I was surprised with how fast they responded - Trojanović points out. He is delighted that the Ministry of Defence agreed to help on the same day when the Association lodged the request for assistance.
 
Captain Nemanja Vukadinović, the Reserve Officers’ Course platoon commander is one of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces participating in this humanitarian assistance.  - The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have responded to the appeal for help made by the Belgrade Association of Muscular Dystrophy Patients, organizing the loading, transport and distribution of firewood to the neediest members of that association who reside in Belgrade. Participants in the Reserve Officers’ Course have also participated in this humanitarian task. We are happy to be able to provide help to the people who need it the most - Captain Vukadinović pointed out.

 Firewood was delivered to Goran Tomić, who expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Defence and the Association of Muscular Dystrophy Patients for the great assistance that means a lot to him because he was not able to buy firewood for his family.

- I am grateful for the big help. For me, this is as if I have received 50 cubic metres of logs - Tomić emphasized.
