Three decades since death of Major Milan Tepić and Private Stojadin Mirković marked
 
Wreaths were laid and tribute was paid today to mark three decades since the death of national hero Major Milan Tepić and Private Stojadin Mirković, who died on September 29, 1991, preventing Croatian paramilitary forces from gaining possession of weapons and ammunition stored in a military depot near Bjelovar.
  An MOD and SAF delegation, led by Brigadier General Srđan Petković, Chief of the Logistics Department, Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, laid a wreath today at the monument to national hero Milan Tepić in Belgrade’s street bearing the same, to mark the 30th anniversary of his death.

Wreaths were also laid by members of Milan Tepić’s family, associations and citizens committed to nurturing traditions of Serbian liberation wars.

Today, the MOD and SAF delegation also laid a wreath and paid tribute near the bust of the killed Private Stojadin Mirković, erected in the yard of "Miloš Marković" Elementary School in the village of Gornje Leskovice near Valjevo.
  On November 19, 1991, the Presidency of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia posthumously awarded Major Milan Tepić the Order of the People's Hero of Yugoslavia for an "extraordinary feat in the fight against the enemies during their attack on the Yugoslav People’s Army’s barracks in Bjelovar". The monument to Milan Tepić was unveiled on September 29, 2017, on the 26th anniversary of the death of this national hero.
 
Private Stojadin Mirković  was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit in Defence and Security (Class 1).
