Plenary session of the Conference of National Armaments Directors




The plenary session of the Conference of National Armaments Directors was held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, in the format of an interoperability platform.
 
The Republic of Serbia was represented by acting assistant minister of defence for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradović, PhD.
 
The Conference of National Armaments Directors engages in activities related to the research, development and production of weapons and military equipment and is open to cooperation with partner countries in accordance with their national requirements and capabilities.
 
The session, which reviewed the annual work of the Conference, was attended by representatives of 45 countries, 25 different working groups, NATO commands and agencies.
 
The focus of this year's meeting was on international cooperation in the field of developing weapons and military equipment based on innovative technologies.
 
The participants of the meeting were able to look at possibilities for improving cooperation in the field of development and production of weapons and military equipment, as well as to review the status of the already started projects of development of defence technologies. Opportunities and areas of cooperation with the European Defence Agency and the commercial sector in the field of defence capacity building were also discussed.
 
On the sidelines of the session, assistant minister Miloradović talked to national directors of Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Slovakia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Montenegro about trends in defence technology development, ongoing and potential joint projects in the field of development and production of military equipment and weapons, and on cooperation among the defence industries.
