Serbian Defence Industry at Exhibition UMEX 2018

Unmanned Systems Exhibition & Conference UMEX 2018 dedicated to unmanned systems and platforms was held from 25th to 27th February in Abu Dhabi, and this year’s presenters included the Military Technical Institute and Serbian defence industry with their developmental projects among which particularly noted were armed unmanned ground platform “Miloš” and unmanned helicopter “Hornet”.

Delegation of the Ministry of Defence at this exhibition was led by Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Dr Nenad Miloradović. He underscored that the appearance of our military industry had attracted great attention of the host headed by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, the crown-prince of the UAE.

- Serbian defence industry and Armed Forces of the UAE have a long tradition of business and cooperation, and we have developed good cooperation with manufacturers from the UAE. This is the first time that we have presented ourselves at UMEX exhibition which is rather interesting fair that offers an excellent insight in truly extraordinary technology – said Miloradović.

He added that the armed unmanned ground platform “Miloš”, intended to support special and reconnaissance units, particularly in counterterrorist activities in urban terrain, had caused particular interest at the exhibition and the asset was left in the UAE at the request of the host, for testing and potential fielding in their armed forces.

The exhibition UMEX 2018 gathers leading world producers in that field, and developmental projects of the MTI were presented at the stand of PC “Jugoimport-SDPR” besides the projects of that company and their partners.
