New Issue of “Odbrana”
- The Serbs should maintain their military neutrality, to aspire to integration, but not at the cost of relinquishing key state and national interests, to preserve the title deed to their southern province and to aspire to the recovery of their cultural and national being from everything that was lost during the Yugoslav epic. After the calvaries undergone in the 20th century, Serbian people is again at the beginning, although not as exhausted as somebody outside would want it to be or created that image – believes Dr Srđa Trifković, a historian, political scientist and publicist. In the interview for “Defence” he talks about global political context in which Serbia and Serbian people survive, and about the opportunities which should be offered to the generations to come. The topic of the new issue of the military magazine deals with the project of reconstruction of the Military Academy complex. According to the competent authorities, the cadets will from the beginning of the next year have working and living conditions similar to those of their colleagues in the most developed countries of the world.
We recommend to our readers a story about the Third Army Brigade and its members who, although located in four towns, function as one. They are trained and motivated to execute the tasks in all three missions of the armed forces – they secure the administrative line with the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, control the Ground Safety Zone, assist civilian population in eliminating effects of natural disasters and participate in multinational operation of the United Nations.
