Confirmation of Good Defence Cooperation with Algeria



During today’s meeting, the Minister of Defence, Mr Zoran Đorđević, and the Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria Abdelhamid Chebchoub confirmed that traditionally friendly relations and strategic partnership represented an excellent foundation for the enhancement of the overall cooperation, and consequently the defence cooperation.
 
Minister Đorđević expressed his satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation and informed the Ambassador about the results of the meeting of Serbia-Algeria Mixed Committee for defence cooperation held in mid-January 2017 in Algeria.  On that occasion, the activities of common interest were defined and agreed upon, and their implementation is expected in the forthcoming period..
 
The orientation towards exploiting the existing potential was mutually confirmed, as well as the orientation towards intensifying military educational, military economic, military medical and military-to-military cooperation.
 
Ambassador Chebchoub pointed out excellent results achieved in the field of military educational cooperation and expressed interest in the continuation and long-term cooperation in the area of professional advancement of Algerian officers at the Military Academy and the Military Medical Academy.
