A visit of Executive Director of the European Defence Agency
Defence Minister has met today Executive Director of the European Defence Agency Ambassador Jorge Domecq.
During the meeting both sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation so far, which is visible through a great number of visits and activities at the high and expert level. The involvement of the Republic of Serbia in the work of the project team for Countering Improvised Explosive Devices (PT CIED) was specially commended. They also talked about the modes and possibilities of further concrete cooperation according to the Administrative Contract, which the Republic of Serbia signed with this Agency in 2013.
The Ministry of Defence intends to improve development of the capabilities and capacities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence by engagement of the Republic of Serbia in the activities of the European Defence Agency, Minister Djordjevic emphasized during the talks.
During his visit to Belgrade Executive Director of the European Defence Agency will meet Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic and Head of the Defence Technology Department Major General Bojan Zrnic, as well as other representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in charge of cooperation with the European Defence Agency. Ambassador Domecq will meet the representatives of Serbian Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs, Committee on EU integrations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his visit, Ambassador Domecq will give a lecture at the Military Academy about the role of the European Defence Agency in implementation of EU Global Strategy, NATO-EU Common Declaration and Action plan of European defence.
