Distance Learning 2016 regional conference held



At the Military Academy, today, the 5th Regional and Expert Conference on Distance Learning was held which, thanks to the results achieved in the previous period, has become an integral part of military education and training. With more than 70 realized courses with 2000 participants from the defence system, and three hundred participants from abroad, the Centre for Simulation and Distance Learning is a representative element within the system of military education and training.
 
Opening the meeting, the Rector of the University of Defence, Major General Mladen Vuruna, stressed that it was exactly an attractive use of media in the process of education and training that increased motivation of cadets and officers, which certainly increases the usability of this type of learning. Commenting on the regional cooperation in this area, which is fuelled by distance learning, Major General Vuruna stressed that the aim of this meeting was to "initiate, strengthen and continue regional cooperation".
 
 The results achieved in the process of improving the function of distance learning in the armed forces were addressed by Colonel Miroslav Italian, Chief of the National Defence School, representatives of distance learning centres in the Republic of Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of Norway in the Republic of Serbia, Commander Tore Anderson, whose country helped the realization of this idea by financial assistance.
