Day of the Financial Service marked
Defence Minister Zoran Đorđević received today the delegation of the Financial Service at the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces led by Assistant Minister for Budget and Finances Radmila Jagodić and Head of the Budget Department Colonel Saša Trandafilović, PhD, on the occasion of the Day of the Financial Service, which was established 72 years ago.Defence Minister commended the representatives of the Financial Service for past achievements in improving one of the most significant functions in the defence system, which gave the support to the programme of the Government of Serbia on consolidation of public finances.
Establishing programmed budget, financial management and control and centralized management of salaries represent only a part of activities of the financial service focused on the improvement of managing responsibilities.
The reception was also attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Finances Mirjana Ćojbašić, Supreme State Auditor Svetlana Toma Anokić, Authorised State Auditor Olga Lukić, General Secretary to the Association of Accountants and Auditors of Serbia Pero Škobić, PhD, President of Council of the Faculty of Economics Biljana Jovanović Gavrilović, PhD and professor Branko Ljutić, PhD, from the University Business Academy in Novi Sad.
The representatives of the state institutions emphasized that the work of the Financial Service at the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces represents an example of good practice to all budget beneficiaries and wished them luck in future work.
The reception was also attended by the best cadets of the fourth year at the Military Academy at public finance study programmes, who prove that the financial service in the defence system takes care of education of personnel at accredited public finance study programmes from undergraduate via master’s to doctoral studies available to persons outside the defence system.
