Meeting of the Conference of National Armaments Directors



Meeting of the Conference of National Armaments Directors has been held in Brussels today, with the participation of NATO Member States, EU representatives, NATO agencies and organizations and Partner countries. On behalf of the Republic of Serbia, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, accompanied by members of the military mission, participated in the work of the Conference.

During the meeting, participants discussed the current technological trends in the development of modern military capabilities, which were presented in detail by the Chairman of the Military Committee, General Knud Bartels, in his opening address. In addition, some possibilities for further improvement of cooperation in the defence industry and the experiences of some countries in the development of weapons and military equipment were also discussed.

On the sidelines of the conference, State Secretary Djordjevic met with Slovenian National Armaments Director when they discussed issues from many areas, with a focus on issues of defence technologies and directions of further cooperation in the defence industry.

Conference of National Armaments Directors is a regular annual meeting of holders of functions of acquisition and building operational capabilities. This year's meeting was attended by the Executive Director of the European Defence Agency (EDA), Claude -France Arnould, whose speech on the concerted development of capabilities of NATO and the EU and the expected results of the European Council devoted to defence and security issues in December, draw special attention of the participants.
