Cooperation with the United Kingdom in the field of European integration
Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Miroslav Jovanovic met today with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union, HE Julian Braithwaite at the Ministry of Defence. At the meeting, they exchanged opinions on cooperation in the field of European integration.On this occasion, Assistant Minister Jovanovic said that Serbia appreciates support of that country to efforts of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the framework of the European Union Common Security and Defence Policy. Jovanovic informed Braithwaite about the participation of representatives of the MoD and SAF in the EU crisis management operations and other activities in the framework of cooperation with the EU. He assessed that the help of the United Kingdom in the negotiation process would significantly contribute to speeding up the flow of the negotiations between Serbia and the EU.
Ambassador Braithwaite conveyed the interest of the United Kingdom in supporting the activities of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia in the main areas of the EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
They reached a mutual agreement for the future to review the modalities of cooperation and assistance of the United Kingdom to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia in the field of the Common Security and Defence Policy.
