CHODs of Serbia and Greece meet



SAF CHOD General Ljubisa Dikovic met with his Greek counterpart, General Mikhail Kostarakos , who is heading a senior delegation on a two-day visit to the country. Series of talks  the first man of the Greek armed forces is going to have with the most responsible figures in the defense system of the Republic of Serbia should contribute to the improvement of the already highly developed bilateral military relations.

General Ljubisa Dikovic welcomed General Kostarakos noting that it was a visit of the CHOD of the country Serbia has historically built unbreakable friendship with , another thing being of importance that such a visit is happening in the year of the jubilee.

We will exchange our opinions on the security situation in the region, discuss the forms of future cooperation, primarily through joining training facilities since future is in joining.

Furthermore, he stressed national goals and common interests can be achieved only by joining forces.

Chief of SAF said that SAF has a very well developed with cooperation especially in the field of military education , reminding that about eighty of our members have attended some form of training in the country , and in the training of special units. Dikovic he said that the Serbian Army will offer the Greek side service center for RCBD staff training as well as certain repair capacities .

General Kostarakos observed that his visit to Serbia is a proof of extraordinary military ties emphasizing the commitment to strengthening the existing cooperation and expanding it into sectors of mutual interest.

Military cooperation between the two countries is essential and important indicator of the exceptional relations in all sectors, which are based primarily on the deep historical and religious ties that exist between our nations . Greece is a regular partner which strongly supports Serbia's efforts to join the European Union and various international organizations - said Kostarakos .

The Chief of the Greek Army thanked General Dikovic for his personal contribution to building relations between the two defense system.

This high ranking Greek delegation will visit today and tomorrow the Special Brigade , Air Force Institute "Moma Stanojlovic" with Kostarakos attending the memorial service at the Serbian and Greek military cemetery in Pirot.
