2nd regional military medical conference opens



The 2nd regional military medical conference opened today in the House of Guards . The two-day event was officially opened by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic.

On this occasion, he welcomed all the participants of the conference, which , he said, " is very important for the region " , and on behalf of the Ministry of Defence wished the participants " a successful conference , fruitful discussions , success in work and a pleasant stay in Serbia."

Head of the Military Health Brigadier General prof . Zoran Popovic said that it is very important for MoD to host this military medical conference. He added that Serbia is very proud of the military health care she has, and that, in its long tradition, Military Medical Academy, the Military Medical Center, and military hospitals in Nis and Novi Sad are highly respected medical institutions among the citizens of our country.

This regional military medical conference in Belgrade has 42 participants from 14 countries, mainly in the Balkans and Southeast Europe, with the support of the Kingdom of Norway and the United States. The participants were addressed by navy captain Gunnar Helo (Norway ) and Colonel John Mitchell ( USA ) who emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in the area of military health care , as well as Serbia's cooperation with NATO in the framework of the "Partnership for Peace Program. "

The conference includes presentations and panel discussions on military medical cooperation in the Balkans , the development of military medicine as well as smart defense, a concept that enables overcoming the economic crisis in defense policy and more.
