Military Bilateral Cooperation Plan with Turkey signed



The Head of the International Military Cooperation Brigadier General Ljubomir Nikolic has signed today with representatives of the defense of the Republic of Turkey in Belgrade Colonel Ridvan Yildiz Judzel a bilateral military cooperation plan with the Republic of Turkey for 2013.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation achieved in the field of defense and a tendency for further improvement. Cooperation is characterized by high-level meetings and a number of activities. The focus of the cooperation is on the activities in the framework of regional integration and security initiatives, education and training, participation in joint exercises, special forces, and military economy cooperation.

Number of planned activities in 2013 represents a qualitative improvement and extension of cooperation in established areas, in terms of limited budgets. The main activity of the 2013 is the return visit of the Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet OS Ozel to Serbia.

They emphasized the need to consider the possibility of further strengthening cooperation in the field of military education through the exchange of officers at various levels of training and military economic cooperation.
