Promenade parade of the Orchestra of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard



On the occasion of celebrating the Serbian Armed Forces Day –23 April, Representative Orchestra of the Guard performed today a promenade parade in Belgrade.

Citizens of Belgrade enjoyed in the interpretations of old Serbian marches and other popular compositions, from the monument to Prince Mihailo to Kalemegdan.

Promenade parade began with the song "March on the Drina", in then the sounds of marches of King Milan Obrenovic, Serbian court guards, Dixie Parade, Royal Guard and other compositions were heard at thecentre of the capital city.

The crowd on the street and at the windows of the surrounding buildings rewarded with applause every stroke that was played, and many passers-by paused to record the parade of the Guard’s Orchestra by eye of cameras. The greatest joy and enthusiasm was shown by the youngest ones. Playful first graders, friends Aleksandar and Nikola, were happy because their todays walk in Belgrade turned into a "concert of beautiful music."

- The music they play is beautiful and their uniforms are beautiful, too, but it seems to me that they are so hot, Aleksandar was concerned,while Nikola was excited trying to follow the step of the members of the Representative Orchestra of the Guard with the sound of drums.

The Serbian Armed Forces Day is traditionally celebrated every year by organizing activities and events at the level of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the country, as well as by a series of celebrations in diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Serbia abroad.
