Summer Sports Camp for members of the defence system



In the period from 5 to 20 August, at the 51st ski training area "Kopaonik", the fourth summer sports training camp "Kopaonik 2013" is being held. The aim of the sports camp is to raise psychophysical condition of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Force to the higher level and prepare for competitions within the International Military Sports Council CISM.

Participants of the training camp are officers and non-commissioned officers of the Serbian Armed Forces, the cadets of the Military Academy and the Military High School students. A number of 35 of them is being trained in four disciplines – track and field, military pentathlon, orienteering and fighting, thus raising the fitness to the higher level so that in the future they could achieve top results.

Within the discipline of fighting they practice judo, karate, MMA, Krav Maga and Jiu Jitsu, which is a mixture of martial arts that can add quality to achieving the objectives of soldiers on the battlefield.

Head of the summer sports camp Colonel Dragan Djini, Head of the Section of Military Sports of the Military Academy, Colonel Djini, is also the head of the Serbian delegation to CISM, that has launched an initiative for "Kopaonik" training area to develop in terms of sports and build an infrastructure that would allow for a more complete preparation of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
