New apartments distributed to members of the defence system

At the residential area of "Stepa Stepanovic", in buildings 2D, 2E and 2F, today, 54 keys of the newly built apartments have been distributed to the members of the defence system. The keys were handed by the Head of the Infrastructure Department of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Milan Sladoje. By today's distribution of keys, the Ministry of Defence continues the implementation of the "Stepa Stepanović" project together with the Building Directorate of Serbia, and so far 348 apartments were inhabited out of 723 contracted ones.

Colonel Zeljko Obradovic from the Military Police Department of the Serbian Armed Forces waited for the apartment for 23 years. He worked and lived in Pancevo, Podgorica, Zagreb and Sarajevo. He is married and has three daughters.

- Of all members of my family, the one who is the happiest is my wife. The apartment has three rooms and we will try to find a place for everyone because, you know, for a large family the apartment is still small. But never mind, it will be fine, said Colonel Obradovic.

Lieutenant Colonel Zoran Raskovic, employed at the Department of Infrastructure of the Material Resources Sector, received the apartment after 22 years of active service in the defence system.

- After many years of sub-tenant’s life the long-desired day has come. My wife, son, daughter and me will furnish the apartment easily, because everyone has already chosen their rooms, said Lieutenant Colonel Rasković, while his wife added that the children are those who are the happiest, because they could not wait to have their own space.

At the territory of the former barracks "Field Marchal Stepa Stepanović" on 42 hectares of land, a business and residential complex is being built, to include 4,616 apartments, 156 shops, 1,430 garage spaces and 3,300 open parking spaces.
