Minister Mihajlovic's lecture in the School of National Defence



Minister of Energy, Development and the Environment Professor. Zorana Mihajlovic held a lecture entitled "The Challenges of Serbia in the energy sector", which was attended by students of Higher Security and Defence Studies, of the Command and General Staff studies as well as professors from the School of National Defense, the Military Academy and representatives of the Oil Industry of Serbia.

Minister Mihajlovic presented the importance of energy security in Serbia as one of the pillars of national security, spoke about energy supply, developing regions influenced by necessary investments in energy infrastructure and resources, and the position of Serbia as a transit route for energy and fuels.

She also emphasized the importance of the Agreement on Establishing the Energy Community, signed by the SEE countries, including Serbia, as a first ratified treaty in the process of the countries of this part of the continent's oldest European Union.

Attendees were presented with statistical data on the sources of increased energy security, more specifically, the capacity of our country's electricity, oil, gas and renewable energy resources, as well as suggestions for improving energy efficiency in Serbia.

At the end of the lecture, Minister answered questions from listeners on nuclear power and building nuclear power plants, wind power and wind turbines, then the installation of solar panels on the roofs of houses and buildings, and oil and gas reserves in Serbia.

As a sign of appreciation for the lecture she has given, the head of the School of National Defense Colonel Mile Jelic presented the Minister Zoran Mihajlovic with a monograph "The Serbian military education."
