Austria supports Serbia's EU integrations
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Nikolic talked on Friday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Belgrade Johannes Aygner.
The Secretary of State Nikolic thanked for continued support of the Republic of Austria to Serbia on its path towards European integrations. Getting a start date for negotiations is a well-deserved result of the Government of Serbia, which has demonstrated full seriousness and commitment to work.
The priorities of the Ministry of Defense Cooperation with the European Union in the future improvement of the administrative capacity for active cooperation in the framework of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the DRC, participation in the operations of the EU crisis management and the development of joint projects with the European Defence Agency (EDA).
Ambassador Aigner pointed out that the Republic of Austria is a strong advocate of continuing the integration process and continuing with the efforts of other states to speed up Serbia's accession to the European Union. Federal Ministry of Defence and Sports of Austria, as the central coordinator of the training program in the field of common security and defense policy, will continue to support the improvement of the administrative capacity and providing expert help to achieve the status of a regional center CUK NBC in Krusevac.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation achieved in the field of defense and tendency to further improvement. It was noted that the intense high-level meetings and regular bilateral military security consultations prove that there is a high level of understanding between the two countries.
The focus of defense cooperation in the future will be training and development, preparation for participation in multinational operations, military history, logistics, RCBD and military medicine.
