A new medical center in Bezanijska kosa soon

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, Health Minister Zoran Stankovic and Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas visited the site today Bezanijska kosa where a new military medical center "Bežanijska kosa will be established."

On that occasion, Sutanovac said that the Military Medical Academy and hospital in Nis and Novi Sad, thanks to the reform of the military health care, have long since opened their doors to the civilian population.

- Today here in Bezanijska kosa we are in a position to announce the opening of the Military Medical Center, which in cooperation with the Ministry of Health will be put into operation for civilian use. In the area of Bezanijska kosa there are about 7,000 active or retired members of the Army of Serbiawho are military health care beneficiaries, and this capacity will be doubled for the majority of citizens who have civilian health insurance, said the defense minister adding that this centre will save money as it will serve instead of the new health center planned for the area of New Belgrade.

- The project of conversion of office space will cost 30 million, but we expect help from the City of Belgrade. I want to emphasize that the MoD has today presented the 77 keys of newly built flats and in the future we plan to finish another 250 flats. Therefore it is extremely important to us that in this part of Belgrade there is a clinic, said the Minister expressing satisfaction that the City of Belgrade and the Ministry of Health had recognized the importance of opening such a facility.

Health Minister Zoran Stankovic noted the importance of civil-military cooperation, which has previously been very intense and comprehensive, and has contributed to solving health in an acceptable manner.

- We are in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the City of Belgrade have agreed to this kind of cooperation. This is further evidence of cooperation for the good health of our population and those who are in greatest need medical assistance, said the Minister of Health.

Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas said that the Serbian government had decided yesterday that along with this facility, the facility in Cerak, which has already been built, would also be used.

- The facility will be used by the citizens in Vidikovac and Rakovica, and with the object on Labudovo brdo, whose construction should start, we can say that we have fully covered the health care system throughout the municipality, said the mayor of Belgrade.

Space available for adaptation for the formation of the ambulance has nine offices at Marka Celebonovica Street. The new clinic VMC "Bežanijska kosa" will be intended for military and civil health care beneficiries and will include laboratory, pharmacy, ER, general and physical medicine.
