Open day in Batajnica



Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Serbian Army Maj. Gen. Milan Bjelica attended today at the airport Batajnica traditional action "Open Day". On this occasion, members of the 204th aviation brigade prepared by tactical-technical assembly of the aircraft that are in use in that unit, and all aviation enthusiasts, among which are the largest of them children, could see the weapons and equipment of Serbian aviation.

Sutanovac also announced that in the promotion of the Serbian Army and its operational capability in April over Serbia in the barracks would be held "Open days".

"It will be an opportunity for citizens, children and all those who love the army, to enter barracks and see what the military has and what technique is used," the minister said, adding that the Ministry of Defence is extremely important this year given that we are celebrating one hundred years of existence aviation in Serbia anniversary which many countries of Europe and the world do not have reminding that on the second September the largest ever air show in Belgrade would be held.

"I'm glad that today we have other public figures, actors from the series" Military Academy ", who are being trained to be pilots," noted the minister adding that they are sort of the promoters of the Army of Serbia, especially aviation.

The cast of the series "Military Academy" which landed at the airport by helicopter Mi-8 was greeted by all participants, especially children, who were the heroes of the series painted and received autographs.

Actor Bojan Peric (cadet Stosic) says that filming the series "Military Academy" had been for him a unique experience.

"The number of children here present, who gave us great attention, tells us that we are stil doing something nice," Peric said, adding that they had strong support in the work of officers.

For Jelisaveta Orasanin, as cadet Roksanda in the series, prepare for the series itself was difficult, but as she says now see that it has paid off.
"At times it was very hard, at 40 degrees to learn the lines, full war equipment ... It was hard, but we enjoyed every moment," said Elizabeth, who especially remembers the fun of shooting.

Nevena Ristic, who plays a young cadet class Bisa, believes that the experiences by recording remembered for a lifetime.
"It was great to revive the young people who have a truly amazing call," she said and pointed out that all the preparations they had before taking a unique and interesting, thanks to the officers who worked with them.

Director Dejan Zecevic said that he had interesting material, professional team and the support of the Military Academy and the Ministry of Defence.
"This is the perfect situation for every director and in this sense, the set was a great pleasure for me," he said and explained that his main task was to present life at the Academy in an attractive and interesting way.

Guests at the airport Batajnica today had the unique opportunity to closely see the planes of type Mock, Swallow, Supergaleb, Eagle, Mig-21, Mig-29, Antonov and helicopters Mi-8 and Mi-17. To the surprise of the audience they could also see the equpment and resources located in 250 Missile Brigade PVD - Neva and Kub, radars from 126th VOJIN Brigade and 210th Equipment Battalion connection.

The visitors’ attention was attracted by attractive helicopter flight program of "Gazelas" and Mi-17 presenting fire fighting operations, and aircraft "Supergaleb" Mig-21 and Mig-29.

According to the commander of the 204th Aviation Brigade, Brigadier General Predrag Bandic, today's "Open Day" confirmed once again that the nation loves aviators and aviation, especially military.

Modelers from various Serbian avio clubs presented a radio-controlled flying models in the static program, while the Air Force modelers presented their models.

Many elementary schools brought their pupils to enjoy in the "Open Day" at Batajnica. Organized by the City, while children without parental care have also had the opportunity to spend a day with our pilots and attend the great wave of Serbian aviation aircraft.

The objective of opening the gates to all interested citizens that the meeting with airmen is to promote the military profession, in particular pilot.
