UK delegation visits Military Health Department



Head of the Military Health Department, Brigadier General Radivoje Anđelković , DVM, and Head of the Military Medical Academy, Colonel Miroslav Vukosavljević, M.D., PhD, have met with the Commander of the 2nd Medical Brigade, British Armed Forces, Brigadier Alison McCourt, who was visiting the Military Health Department as part of a UK delegation.
  At the meeting, the military health system’s capabilities and sphere of activities were presented, and a particular interest in the role of the medical corps during the Covid pandemic was expressed.

During the exchange of experience in fighting the epidemic, similarities in the organization of medical service were pointed out, and it was concluded that Covid-19 disease had made the military health care step out of its comfort zone everywhere in the world, but also that the results achieved showed that the military corps had lived up to the expectations and showed exceptional flexibility and endurance over the past two years.
Since the cooperation in the field of military medicine between the two countries is intensive, the establishment of a nursing service was also discussed, and part of the conversation was dedicated to preventive medicine, toxicology, infectious diseases, and potential ways to improve military medical cooperation.
  Besides the organizational units of the Military Medical Academy, the UK delegation, also visited the Military Hospital in Niš, where they talked to the representatives of this military health institution about the medical teams’ experiences from peacekeeping operations.
